Faraday Pinot Noir 2021
Faraday Vineyard - South Faraday, Mt Alexander foothills
100% Pinot Noir - Clones: Mainly MV6, little bit of D5V12
Grown on the quartzy granitic sandy soils of this East facing hill, the Pinot here has depth and concentration. Low-yielding, around 1 tonne per acre, small bunches with thicker skins, there is a structure and depth here which is helped along with around 20% new oak, provided by a single Stockinger Austrian oak 500L puncheon.
The darker and more brooding Pinot of the two we made this year; it is a contrast to the pretty and more ethereal, Malmsbury Pinot.
Desirable.
