Every year we've been consciously wanting to get the Yandoit Syrah down in ripeness and alcohol, to position it definitively in the 'Syrah' style rather than verging on 'Shiraz'.
Being a cooler site the acid levels are maintained and ripeness of fruit is achieved with limiting yields. We are enjoying how this looks, more herbaceous than years previous without looking at all green. A good amount of whole bunch lifts aromatics and provides additional structure.
